From a linear style of medieval painting, extensive use of available material like wood and tempera to the more modern forms of oil on canvas painting and all techniques developed throughout the ages. From a more fervent and realistic depictions of nature and model, frequently idealized, to the artistic interpretations of the surrounding world.
The site permits to see and compare the work of such artist as Diego Velázquez, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Édouard Manet, Marie Bracquemond, Paul Signac, Eugène Carrière, Henri Fantin-Latour, Nicolas de Largillière, Utagawa Toyokuni II, Rembrandt, Ary Scheffer, Giovanni Battista Pittoni, Circle of the Master of the Trebon Altarpiece, Joos van Cleve and some notable Polish painters.
It is supplemented with some images of medieval and contemporary sculpture and architecture allowing to spot similar tendencies in European art.
